Scope of position:
GMS-Biotech has an immediate opening for a senior scientist in its Tucson laboratories. The position will be focused on the development and validation of Raw Sample Genotyping
technology for various biomarker applications. The position(s) is highly interdisciplinary and entails collaboration with bench scientists, software designers, manufacturing sales and marketing. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem
solver and have an advanced degree in molecular biology, biotechnology, biomedical engineering or related disciplines. Expertise in nucleic acid isolation, characterization, PCR and other methods of applied genetic testing is a requirement.
Knowledge
required:
The candidate will have a Ph.D. in molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry or biomedical engineering, preferably with 1-3 years of industry experience. He or she should have hands-on experience in genomics assay technologies
(e.g. qPCR, droplet/digital PCR). Experience with NexGen sequencing desired. Broad experience in standard molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA sample preparation PCR and RT-PCR is essential, with experience in technology development
preferred. Experience in bioinformatics and statistical data analysis is an added plus.

the individual should have hands-on laboratory skills, as well as strong written and oral communication skills. Finally the individual should have the ability to successfully work in a team environment and to adapt to rapidly evolving needs.

tests, based on a proprietary microarray, software and sample processing technology to support product launch and FDA approval in 2013. The position(s) is highly interdisciplinary and entails collaboration with bench scientists, software designers,
manufacturing sales and marketing. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver and have an advanced degree in molecular biology, biotechnology, biomedical engineering or related disciplines. Expertise in nucleic acid isolation,
characterization, PCR and other methods of applied genetic testing is a requirement.
Knowledge required:
Must have at least 2-5 years experience in the development of FDA regulated in vitro-diagnostic tests. This would include specific experience in design controls, test
plan and report writing for regulatory submissions and clinical trials. (2-3 years will be considered as a junior scientist position.)
